Made for Hiking and the Outdoors
Long days on your feet demand a sock that's comfortable from start to finish.
'Max' socks feature a thick terry-loop interior that provides soft cushioning underfoot while helping to trap warm air for insulation. Combined with the natural breathability of Australian-grown merino wool, they help keep your feet comfortable across a wide range of conditions.
The addition of nylon increases durability, helping the socks stand up to the demands of long days on your feet, without compromising comfort.
Whether you're heading onto the hiking trail, or heading out to work, 'Max' is designed to deliver lasting warmth, comfort and durability.

Why Merino Wool?
We choose premium Australian-grown merino wool because it's naturally breathable, helps regulate temperature and manages moisture better than synthetic fibres. That means your feet stay comfortable whether you're facing cold winter conditions or warmer summer weather.
By combining merino wool with nylon, we're able to create a sock that balances natural comfort with the durability needed for extended periods on your feet.

Frequently Asked Questions
How thick are 'Max' socks?
'Max' is one of our thickest socks, featuring full terry-loop cushioning throughout. They're designed for warmth, comfort and durability inside hiking boots, work boots, and shorter length gumboots.
Are 'Max' socks suitable for steel-toe work boots?
Yes. Their thick cushioning makes them an excellent choice for steel-toe work boots, provided your boots fit correctly.
Can I wear them all year round?
Yes. While 'Max' is one of our warmest socks, the natural properties of merino wool help regulate temperature, making them comfortable throughout the year.
Can they go in the dryer?
No. To avoid shrinkage, we recommend a cold, gentle machine wash and line-drying away from a heat source.
Are 'Max' socks itchy?
No. Australian-grown merino wool is naturally soft and comfortable for all-day wear.
Why do you use nylon?
Nylon adds strength and durability, helping the socks withstand everyday wear while retaining the comfort and performance of merino wool.
If you're looking for a thick, full-cushioned sock without synthetic fibres, you may wish to consider our Merino + Hemp 'Wombat' socks.
Where are they made?
Every pair is knitted at our factory in Crookwell, Australia.
Why is XL more expensive than the other sizes?
The pricing is higher than our other 'Max' sizes to account for the additional yarn used to make our XL socks.
